Here’s the content of the latest newsletter that just went out:

Hi there

There’s some important dates and fee information in this newsletter, so please read through. Also, details about this year’s winter seminar. Firstly, the term 1 and 2 start and finish dates are listed below. There’s a slightly longer than normal break for all classes this time, partly due to commitments with Sifu Alan and partly due to where Easter and ANZAC Day fall this year.

Start and finish dates vary from class to class, so check carefully below. Any questions, please contact Sifu Alan.

Term 1 ends:

Kids and Juniors Kung Fu – Last class on Wednesday 5th April

Adults Kung Fu
– Last class on Monday 10th April

Qi Gong/Tai Chi – Last class on Monday 10th April

Term 2 begins:

Kids and Juniors Kung Fu – First class back on Wednesday 26th April

Adults Kung Fu
– First class back on Wednesday 26th April

Qi Gong/Tai Chi – First class back on Thursday 27th April

South Coast Seminar 2017

Kiama July Seminar – Double Daggers and grappling/joint locking techniques

This seminar is open to Choy Lee Fut students of all levels, Adults and Juniors (sorry, no Kids Class students).

Dates: Saturday July 8th – Sunday July 9th

Time
: Sat 9am-5pm (with lunch break)
Sat 8am-1pm (with party afterwards)

Location
: Illawarra Kung Fu Academy, Kiama Masonic Hall, 46 Collins Street

Price
: $180 (includes daggers)

Curriculum
: Seung Bei Sau (Double Daggers) and Kam Na (grappling/joint locking) techniques.

While Choy Lee Fut is widely known for its long range, a lot of people aren’t aware of its extensive medium and short range fighting techniques. This seminar will introduce short-range Choy Lee Fut, both with and without weapons. For the third year in a row, we’re continuing the tradition of an annual winter weekend retreat where sister branches Choy Lee Fut Sydney and Illawarra Kung Fu train together under the teaching of Grand Master Chen Yong Fa’s Disciples Sifu Alan Baxter and Sifu Paul Nomchong.

Fee Changes

It’s always important to me to keep fees as low as possible, but of course, general costs are always on the rise. With this in mind, I’m going to have to do away with the concession rate for Qi Gong/Tai Chi. The flat rate will stay at $15 per class, but this cost will now have to apply to everyone. I’m sorry to put prices up, but it’s occasionally unavoidable. At this stage, all other fees will remain the same.

That’s it for this time. The term dates will be a sticky post at the top of our Facebook page, so be sure to check there for any details. We regularly post extra interesting content there too: https://www./illawarrakungfu/

Please tell your friends and colleagues about our classes and encourage your kids to tell their classmates. Word of mouth is the best advertising our Academy can get and we greatly appreciate your help in the spreading the word.

As ever, any questions, please call Sifu Alan on or email [email protected]

Best regards
